Pros

Since the Schneider Electric aquisition great strides have been made in efficiency and the direction the company is taking. Dean Meyer has shown he has his eye on the ball. He put us in great shape for the recession, and is bringing in people who will do the company a lot of good in the future.

Cons

The top down decision making nature of the Engineering departments can sometimes inhibit innovation and good decision making. Technical decisions often come from mid level management and any disagreement from the senior engineers can be brushed aside.

Pros

The company has great benefits - especially when working in France. As an engineer any hours over 35 are paid extra or can be taken as a holiday. Schneider Electric is a global company with operations worldwide. THe marco polo program lets you talents exchange offcies for a long duration. The comapny is conservatively managed and has thus been growing steadily over the past few years and can be expected to do so. This created a good atmosphere where one can grow and mature slowely in one's career. Schneider is world leader in their Field and is very high tech.

Cons

The company is very focused on Paris. It has a french strong French culture and most of the top management consists of French people althought Schneider thinks it is a multinational company. The company fails to attract top talent. The company is missing a management trainee program to attract the best students from business schools and engineering schools. The Marco Polo program is a good attempt but it does not really attract talents - instead it promotes international staff exchange between the different offices. The company does not focus well on creating shareholder value. THe CEO does not communicate well with the financial community.

Pros

money is fairly good; a lot of personal independence in how you do your job. Products are reasonably good, but haven't brought any good products to market in last 2 years.

Cons

A lot of former military, so you are always an enlisted person. Little respect as a collegue ... rarely taken into management's confidence.
