Pros

Same level colleagues were typically easy to get along with.

Cons

In store management was typically under educated and ill equipped to perform their position properly. Pay was not great, but what one would expect working as a retail "associate". Ever changing shift days and times were less than ideal. This last is not the corporation's fault, so much as the nature of the way people treat one another in general (at least in the United States). Working retail is unrewarding and un-fulfilling enough, but the way "guests" treat "associates" is abhorrent and makes working in that environment extremely challenging and difficult to give service with a smile.

Pros

It was a job, and a paycheck.

Cons

1. Complete cookie-cutter environment, don't you dare be yourself! 2. Dorky morning "huddles" with exercise kind of like in kindergarten. 3. Nobody is allowed to leave the building alone when working a closing shift, gotta wait for Big Brother. 4. Dumb scheduled breaks that you have to take when they say to. "Sorry ma'am, I can't finish making your latte now, I have to go on my break lest I get written up." 5. HR and management talk to you like a small, stupid child. 6. No matter how clear you make your availability, they will give you a jacked up work schedule. 7. They do not direct hire anyone full-time, and don't disclose that in the interview either.
