Pros

If you are a good communicator and know your business you can advance fairly quickly. Peers make work fun.

Cons

Leadership does not seem to model what they expect from their managers in terms of work time, effort, or followthrough.

Pros

In the role as an Operations Manager you get a set schedule and know when you are required to work each week. This job is a great stepping stone on your career path in leadership.

Cons

The work schedule when you do come in is 13-15+ hours if you are lucky and you leave home exhausted. The company has put so much accountability on the Operations Managers that the Senior Operation Managers do not take accountability for any of their actions. I was given the impression that we always needed to coach out team members instead of coaching them up. I would recommend working in any department other then Inbound. Inbound has been designed to run in such a difficult way that you will be exhausted with your duties before the end of the day (you will counting the days until your weekend starts).

Pros

Great culture in most of the stores. STL's and ETL's with Target are some great people

Cons

Company doesn't stand behind you if you make a mistake. I was scammed by a fake IT help desk person. I was told it would be fine, because it was not my fault. Then two days later I was told I was being fired, because the legal team in Target Headquarters decided to let me go. I had never had any type of discipline or mistake in my time with Target. I was also told that this scam happened to many other people in the company, who are also fired for it.
