Pros

Good pay for someone to start out. Everyone is paid differently. Badminton Court,Foosball, and Table Tennis. Common activities, competitive people pretty fun. You learn a lot as an intern.

Cons

Client focused. Senior management aren't that flexible with you.

Pros

1) Ability to make up hours instead of taking a whole day off 2) Great co-workers

Cons

1) Manager of lab I worked in clearly didn't care about the concerns I brought up, about being untrained to perform certain experiments 2) One technician explicitly told me to just claim that a test passed before even conducting it.

Pros

Fantastic staff who care about making products safer and helping their clients succeed. Vacation allowance is good. UL still pays for staff to obtain Professional Engineers License. Lots of exposure to different technologies. Good stepping stone for new engineers.

Cons

Work is micromanaged from the top down. Staff are managed through fear. Continuous layoffs. UL was a family oriented company, but unfortunately is not so anymore. Work-life balance is poor.
