Pros

Great benifits and promotion is entirely up to your own directive. You can advance as fast or slow to a certain extent that you desire.

Cons

There is the whole getting shot at and getting blown up. You then deal with the deployments abroad. There are the field exercises when you are stateside.

Pros

Satble income and potential and opportunity for advancement. Annual raises in line with civilian economy. Excelent education benefits. Travel Opportunities.

Cons

Long hours, frequent requirement to spend time away from your family. Normal workday begins with physical fitness training begining at 630 AM, Standard work day ends around 5PM. No ability to call in sick. Must go in for evaluation to determine if you need the day off. 30 days of vacation is usually set for you when your unit decides to take vacation time. If you want different dates, it is normally difficult to get approved.
