Pros

Satble income and potential and opportunity for advancement. Annual raises in line with civilian economy. Excelent education benefits. Travel Opportunities.

Cons

Long hours, frequent requirement to spend time away from your family. Normal workday begins with physical fitness training begining at 630 AM, Standard work day ends around 5PM. No ability to call in sick. Must go in for evaluation to determine if you need the day off. 30 days of vacation is usually set for you when your unit decides to take vacation time. If you want different dates, it is normally difficult to get approved.

Pros

You get to travel all over the world and see many things. Plus they give you great training that can be taken to the civilian world.

Cons

You have to be away from your family and friends for a long time. There is a lot of red tape and most people in charge of processing paperwork do not know how to.
