Pros

Serving you country and defending freedom. Having the satisfaction that what you do matters to millions of people around the World.

Cons

Not a lot of family time when you are training or on deployment. You also don't have a lot of decision on what job you do. Many times you are placed in a position at the needs of the Army and you can not change that>

Pros

The Army has a flexible schedule when there isn't a lot going on. You get to spend a lot of time with friedns in a very similar situation to you.

Cons

Deployments mean a lot of time away from family. Also, the Army is very, very big organization, so it's easy to get lost in the shuffle. You may get the jobs you're aiming for, and you may not. Ultimately, though, everyone is subject to the "needs of the Army."

Pros

Great stepping stone to future endeavors and security while you are in. YOu learn how to work with a team and how to work for a global organization. You can also receive benefits well after seperation. I also have to add that I have met the best friends I have ever had, or ever will have in the Army. Even though I decided to seperate I was very proud of my service.

Cons

The hours are very long some days and holidays are not guaranteed. You can obviously be stationed overseas with limited or no opportunities to visit home. Re-classing or exploring new opportunities within the organization can be difficult and often requires re-enlistment.
