Pros

No pros for this company

Cons

This company begins with misrepresentation of salary. They include a bonus with the salary and verbally promise a set amount for the first bonus and when it will be given. Once you've agreed with the offer and begin working for the company is when you find out the bonus was nothing but a lie. They even lie about their 401K contibution; currently, they don't even contribute to that. There is no leadership, just a bunch of young and inexperienced upper management making current employees happy by supplying free snacks. For those who think that's a perk, just goes to show they'd rather stuff their mouths with junk vs increasing their knowledge and bank account. The owners are a joke and the young PMs and BAs don't have a clue on utililizing the current technology they are so quick to think they know. If the owners were doing their job, they would do what was needed to keep the experienced people; who know what theyre doing to stay, versus giving them reasons to leave. Currently, there's only a handful of hard working people left who knows how to do their job. The others, well, they just don't have a clue! For those who do, good luck as there's a company out there who'd be lucky to have you and pay you the money that's deserved vs what kind of snack you like. Take your experience and knowledge elsewhere as this company is a train wreck waiting to happen.

Pros

There is nothing positive about the company, lies from the day one, interview discussion and actual job are completely different, lies about benefits, work hours and environment.

Pros

Good equipment, better than average talent and a very high profile customer. You get to work in Azure and use fairly new things on most projects and a few of the projects are doing some real interesting work. Great location if you are near downtown KC. The upper management are doing some really awesome things with the company and try very hard to communicate and when you pass them in the hall they know who you are. They have regular "town hall" style meetings to try and be transparent and keep everyone on the same page with whats going on. They genuinely feel like they care about staff and the world around them despite how swamped they probably are.

Cons

Next to no work life balance. It feels like when the big client asks for something its an automatic yes no matter if its realistic or not. Very reactionary and not so proactive with planning so as a result most of the engineers work 50-80 hours a week for periods that are several months long, most of the time with small breaks in between. To reward you for this effort you get a 3 or 4 day weekend. What good is the "Unlimited PTO" when you cant even get nights and weekends off? Sleep deprivation is almost guaranteed here. Depending on which project you are on, it might feel like you are a valued team member and things are run openly and transparent or you may end up feeling like you are micro-managed, siloed, and no one listens to anything you say and any improvements you suggest are met with sharp criticism and defensive threatened responses and you have no support or access so the tasks you are given feel impossible to complete. Project to project nothing is consistent and it feels like changing jobs every time you change projects because things are that different between them.
