Pros

The starting pay is a wage you can survive on. A chance to learn new skills. If your a direct hire good benefits. If your lucky you placed with a team that wants you to succeed and will help you above and beyond to succeed at your job with there training.

Cons

Very clickish group. Not much chance in succeeding if just one of your manpowers doesn't want you there. If its two might as well cut your losses and walk out of a hopeless situation. Hard work and ambition are hardly noticed or rewarded from my brief miserable experience there . So if you good look hope the good ol boy club likes you.

Pros

Good safety program, full benefits, matched 401k, year-end bonuses, vacation time, travel opportunities, plenty of available overtime, great locations (sometimes), and the swaying of the turbine in the wind while you're wrenching on some sweet machinery.

Cons

Long commute, inconsistent application of safety and operating policies, long hours, sometimes repetitive work, rough/vulgar coworkers (standard for blue collar).
