Pros

Easy job to get hired on. It’s an entry level job. New hires actually make more than some experience workers that have been there for 3 years. They hire anyone with a degree regardless the field, bio, chem, environment, etc as long as it’s science related. Job is ok there are 3 shifts. Only a few ppl at the job know there chemistry that includes management. Most the work is verifying the raw material or the finish product. Nice job to start with no experience. If you can follow directions and write down every step than this job is good for you.

Cons

To move up in company it’s all about favoritism. I’ve seen a lot of hard worker and good employees just leave because management wouldn’t promote them. Traditional it’s 5 years to get promoted to the next level but that’s only if they like you. Poor training for the new hires and the trainer don’t even even teach you the right way. If you work in the lab there is constant changes to the work environment this normally makes things hard on the lab workers and thus harder to complete your assignment. Once you get in a department it’s really hard to transfer to another department. I left this place because I was given the most work on my shift being an associate and given scientist level work the hardest testing and most runs to watch. I request to be promoted and they said I wasn’t good enough after 3.5 years. Once you make a mistake they really hold you up to it to a point where it stresses you out for a while. They also forces you to use your vacation days at the end of the year, if you have any left. And they managements makes mandatory overtime on the weekend. The overtime is only a fraction of your days worth. (75%) After 3years your know where you stand as far as promotion. To stay or not to stay.
