Pros

They pay relatively high, but it is not worth it.

Cons

A lot of things are wrong here. Management constantly lies to the employees: they say the company is profitable and moving in the right direction, and then in 2 weeks they lay off thousands of people. Without any reasoning, seems like they have just randomly selected people. It has no relation to your skills, performance, etc. During 1.5 years, they made 3 layoffs, just throwing people away in thousands. After layoffs, no knowledge transfer happens. I have no idea how the projects will be maintained if the whole team is gone and there is no one left who keeps the knowledge. Another thing is a very low engineering culture. Code is a mess and garbage, architecture is missing, the company always pushes for the simplest and worst solutions. Nepotism is everywhere, incompetent people are promoted to tech leads, they cannot write the simplest code, but still, they tend to "lead". No matter if you are a strong engineer, you must build shady relationships with management to achieve something. This all comes from the upper management, this is the corporate culture. Save your nerves and stay away.

Pros

1) Amazing colleagues to work with at an L-1,2 & 3 level 2) Can get good projects if you are lucky and based on your projects you can show your potential 3) Great place to build your network 4) Decent pay!

Cons

1) Too much consulting heavy at senior level. A lot of exMckinsey people thus having no actual Wayfair culture 2)Promotion is a painful process even at an L-1 level. I see a few amazing colleagues stuck at lower positions 3) Restructuring every few months can be painful. A colleague of mine has changed 6 bosses in 14 months. (For me it is stable so far) 4) Way too many Senior Managers for the number of L1’s. Hire more L1’s. They are cheaper and bring results in the end. Make your management lean.

Pros

Home Office, Equipment, employee discount

Cons

Management is all smiling and trying new ways to let us work like robots . They are now taking our bank holidays away. Only a week before without caring if we have plans or family. No one can stand so much pressure
