The hiring process at AT&T takes an average of 30 days when considering 2 user submitted interviews across all job titles. Candidates applying for Sales Representative had the quickest hiring process (on average 30 days), whereas Sales Representative roles had the slowest hiring process (on average 30 days).
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at AT&T (Fresno, CA) in Aug 2009
Interview
I was only asked 4 questions during the interview, which are the following:
Are you currently employed?
What experience do you have in sales?
Tell me about a time you use your sense of humor to difuse a situation at work.
Are you competitive?
I must warn you I was only asked very few questions because I was completely unprepared for this interview!

Tell me about a time you used your sense of humor to difuse a situation at work?

You are selected for an interview based on your resume, so make it good. Communication experience is a plus. I was interviewed in August and didn't start paid two week training until November. It's usually away from home with expense reimbursement. Interview questions follow the STAR format (name a Situation or Task, what Actions did you take, what was the Resolution). They can be quite rediculous and are a terrible selection method, but hey what the hell. One to two in person interviews are typical.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you persuaded a customer of the quality of a product or service. What was the situation? What techniques did you use to persuade the customer?
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at AT&T in Jun 2009
Interview
I applied online and within a month I received an email asking me to arrive at a hotel so they could do interviews. This was an open interview since the time frame was open. I arrive at the hotel and they have representatives waiting to talk to you. I showed my resume and because I lacked sales experience they told me I should reapply for a customer service representative. I did so and haven't heard back from them. :(
