The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Singapur) in May 2018
Interview
I interviewed for the Implementation Specialist position at the Singapore office. The interview process itself was extensive, and consisted of five rounds:
1. Call with the recruiter;
2. Call with the hiring manager;
3. Case study presentation/ Role play over video;
4. In-person interviews with 4 functional leaderss
5. Reference checks
My recruiter (shoutout to Virlyn) was truly amazing. She followed up at every stage and gave great feedback. The case study presentation with an existing Implementation Specialist (Mariel) was the highlight - just because it was both a challenge and an eye-opener, giving me a better sense of what the role would look like.
Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review and for recognizing Virlyn's great work. I'm so glad that you felt prepared every step of the way and that your interviews (particularly the case study with Mariel) gave you a great insight into what the job would actually entail. So glad you joined us, welcome to HubSpot!
Best,
Becky
I received an email from the recruiter and she recommended me to apply for the Implementation Specialist role since my skillset and experience were more in line with the role. I said I was keen to explore more so she set up a call with me.
Yuan called to confirm the date and time the next day. So far, so good. This is the part when everything started to go downhill. During the day of the phone interview, i waited for close to 30mins for the recruiter to call me. What's the point of asking me to set my available dates and times on the Greenspot app and then confirming with me again abt my availability, only to call me 30 minutes later than the stipulated time?
Recruiter called and proceeded to ask me the standard questions. After each answer, all she said was Ahhuh ahhuh sounds good sounds good. Okay.... she almost sounded robotic and completely uninterested in what I have to say. Best question though during the interview: i see you applied for two roles. Why did you apply for this role?
At this point of time, i was close to pointing out that you recommended me this role and i figured I'd give it a shot. It seems like she didn't even bother reading my profile beforehand. The interview lasted barely 5 minutes in which she ended with a Ahhuh ahhuh sounds good.
Needless to say, i didn't get the job cos 2 days later she sent me an email saying that the Hubspot team has "carefully considered my qualifications" and i am not qualified enough. What a waste of time. And having zero respect for the other party's time - that's beyond rude.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Dublin, Dublin) in May 2018
Interview
I interviewed for the position in the Dublin office. Long interview process. 4 interviews in 4 weeks. A lot of studying to be do done. A recorded interview, phone call with HR, Role play with hiring manager and face to face interview with with 3 managers. Everybody I spoke to was extremely pleasant and professional. I was told I came very close with another candidate to be selected but I wasn’t offered the position in the end. In spite of that, the all experience was very positive. I even run into one of the co-founders the day I went in for my interview and I was impressed by how down to heart he was. I never learnt so much from an interview, about the job, the company and myself. A lot of respect for Hubspot and for what they do!

Question 1
Tell me about a time you convinced a colleague to do something they didn’t want to do.
Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review! You're right to call out that our interviews are challenging and we definitely encourage a lot of preparation going in - while it wasn't the outcome you hoped for, I'm so glad you had a great experience with our recruiting and hiring teams. And so glad that you got to meet Brian when he was in Dublin earlier this month! Best of luck in your job search and I hope we have an opportunity to cross paths with you in the future! -Becky
