I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot in Nov 2021
Interview
I applied online. Had a call with a recruiter which went well. She was very nice and made the process feel like a conversation. She made herself available before my 3 Zoom meetings with other folks (recruiting & diversity). Again, all very nice and I was comfortable despite the typical behavioral questions. My complaint here was being interviewed by someone easily 20 years younger who had admittedly “not been doing this job very long.” A little put off by that, but not surprised.
In conclusion, I had to reach out to my recruiter after 2+ weeks of no update and then waiting several more days to get a reply that due to alignment and needs, they weren’t moving forward. I’m used to the rejection at this point, but just had a good impression and felt confident. I feel like something didn’t add up or they weren’t sure what they were doing with the role.
Regardless, very nice folks, but maybe polish the process a bit.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot in Jul 2021
Interview
I submitted an application through a referral and then received an email from the recruiter within 48 hours. The initial call was quick and helpful. At the end of the call, I was given clear instructions on the next steps and what I should expect going forward. After the call, I was emailed a quick written assessment to complete. After I had submitted the assessment, I was immediately invited to the next round of interviews. I met with folks from different departments and reviewed a role-play exercise I was asked to complete before the interviews. Each HubSpotter I Interviewed with was kind and helpful. Unfortunately, I was not offered a role through any of the interviewers on that call. However, it was made clear to me that there were still opportunities for me somewhere in HubSpot when I was asked to attend another interview with a hiring manager from another department. A few days after my last interview, my recruiter, Kenny, called me with an offer that I was thrilled to accept.
Overall, the process took about 4/5 weeks (including HubSpot's Week of Rest). I appreciated the responsiveness and guidance from my recruiter, as he made time to hop on a call with me before my interviews to talk me through my nerves and prepared responses. The feedback and opportunity to present to another team made all the difference for me during this process. If you're thinking about applying to HubSpot, I'm here to tell you to do it!

Question 1
What is your understanding of HubSpot? What prompted you to apply for this role?
Pleasant process overall! It was 4 steps for me - initial exploratory call with the recruiter, a call with the hiring manager, an assessment, and a series of final video interviews. HubSpot is highly focused on behavioral style interviewing and has a big emphasis on data driven decisions, which came into play in the assessment.
