I interviewed for a senior HR role at Jefferies and completed six rounds of interviews, followed by a lunch with senior leaders. Everyone I met was professional and respectful, and there was a strong sense of camaraderie among the team.
However, the overall process was quite long and required a substantial time commitment over several months. At the end of the process, I was informed that the role was ultimately offered to a referral, with their internal connection cited as the primary factor in the decision. While I understand that referrals can play an important role in hiring, the lack of transparency and prolonged interview process left a negative impression.
Greater transparency around hiring factors and attention to interview timelines would help improve the candidate experience.
Prospective candidates should be aware that the interview process can be extensive and that internal referrals may carry significant weight in final decisions.
