I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at MANTECH
Interview
A single in-person interview. Interviewers were late, nobody was at reception. Employees just ignored me. Fedex came showed up and they helped him but continued to ignore me. More employees came by, one asked me who I was and I told him my fully name and who I was interviewing with. He left, came back again, ignored me, started talking on his phone. The receptionist came back and was able to communicate with me that this person who had been ignoring me and talking on his phone was there to interview me. Said interviewer wouldn't greet me or introduce himself. Weird cultural difference. Finally the remainder show up and the interview goes underway. Interviewers are busy working from their laptops. They ask a lot of questions specific to their tech stack and its design patterns and seem baffled that other companies would choose different design patterns. As well as huge language miscommunications where often times nobody understood the other party due very poor command of English by the interviewers. They cut the interview short by PM'ing someone to walk in and hand someone a small slip of paper full of bad acting to signal that the interview is over.
Verdic: This place is a total Infosys/Tata consulting style bodyshop. Sad that they are passing over actual veterans and looking to hire non-US citizens, putting them into management when they can't even speak English well.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What are some other Amazon Services you have used? Did you use SDKs for those?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at MANTECH (Owings Mills, MD) in Sep 2019
Interview
Submitted my resume via a recruiter. They gave feedback that very afternooon, and wanted to set up an interview (with no phone screening). I show up to the interview, and I was supposed to meet with another individual, but he was available. So someone else took the interview. Their were 3 people interviewing me. Two of them were dialed in on a conference call (UX Researcher and UX Designer). They asked very simple questions, to which I quickly was able to answer very articulately. After about twenty minutes, the two designers get off the phone, and the main interviewer is talking to me as if I had already got the job, even going so far as to telling me where to eat, and the laptop I'll be provided with. At the end, he told me that they'll be in contact with me about the next steps shortly. I walked away thinking it was all but a done deal.
After two days passed, I reached out to my recruiter to see if they contacted her with any feedback. She told me they had another interview lined up, and will make a final decision on Monday. Monday morning at 8:30AM, I get an e-mail saying they passed on me, with an absolute horsecrap excuse that would only make sense if they initially used it to screen my resume, and NOT have me drive over an hour for said reasoning that they passed. Completely unprofessional
