Question 1
Primarily experiential questions and specifics around expertise. As I had been recommended for the position through a known third party the interview consisted primarily around relationships and market knowledge.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Sun Life in Jan 2017
Interview
After applying online, I was contact 2 weeks later to arrange a phone interview with their recruitment team. I had the call and was told that someone should be back in touch with me the next week. I didn't hear back for a couple of weeks (first red flag). I was then scheduled for an an in-person interview with the hiring manager. After the interview, I was told that someone would be in touch within 2 weeks to advise on next steps. After 3 weeks, I haven't received any follow up even though I've reached out directly to the recruitment team (2nd red flag).
Very disappointed with my experience so far. I'm not sure why these lengthly, black-hole recruiting practices still exist. I don't mind investing my time for the right opportunity, but treat me with respect.
Companies lose out on great talent when the hiring process takes months.

Question 1
Questions tend to follow a script format. You have to get them off script or you won't be memorable; although they default back to asking script questions at their first chance.
Tell me about a time when... What would you do if... How would you manager rate you...
