I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TD (Fairfield, CT) in Dec 2011
Interview
After I applied I got an email from the HR recruitor within 3 days. I was asked questions about my salary requirements, availability, why I'm seeking to leave my current place of employment, etc, and for a copy of my resume. I responded the same day and got a reply from her the next day, saying she gave my info to the bank manager. I had my interview 6 days later, i sent a follow up thank you email and got a response but she hasn't made a final decision yet and said I will hear from her soon. I interviewed with the bank manger and supervisor and they were both very awesome i loved it! She was very impressed that I did my research and talked a little about the company's history. we role played and I "sold" her a checking account and she was just in love with me by the end of the interview. she also asked for a couple of extra copies of my resume. My advice: do your research on the company and be yourself, they dont expect you to be an expert but you can find plenty of info on the banks website.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at TD (Flemington, NJ) in Jan 2009
Interview
I initially applied to TD bank online, through the company website. I was contacted relatively quickly after that and had a brief phone interview. Basically I was asked what position I was looking for, teller or customer service representative (CSR), salary expectations, etc. All of the questions were for basic background information including, education history and job history.
Then I was brought in to a group interview with one of TD Bank's recruiters. I brought my resume and we were introduced to the TD Bank WOW! culture and told more about our potential positions. At that meeting each of us were set up with a branch that had an opening for a teller or CSR and scheduled interview with management at that particular branch.
The interview at the bank branch was simple. A panel consisting of the Assistant Head Teller, Head Teller and Assistant Branch Manager asked me questions about my skills, desire to work there, etc. It was not difficult at all and I could easily tell that they liked me. I was essentially offered the job, but final acceptance and salary negotiation had to be done over the phone with the original HR representative that I spoke to. The next day I was hired. Overall the whole process probably took about a week, maybe two.
