Initial phone screening was done with the team lead to determine fitment with the company's needs and requirements as well as past experiences etc. Largely standard type questions for the position, it was a bit distressing how out of touch the interviewer was with the state of backend development and available technologies.

Q: Have you ever worked with Java, PHP, or similar backend technologies.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Wayfair in Sep 2021
Interview
The interview process is horrible.
The first round is a behaviour with a senior manager.
Then the Karat and phone interview with their recruiter.
The Karat interview came first and I think I did well.
Then the worst part happened, the recruiter didn't show up for the phone interview and they didn't even send out an email.
The worst interview experience I ever had.
No respect to their candidates at all.
Stay away.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Wayfair (Toronto, ON)
Interview
A recruiter reached out via LinkedIn. Had an intro call then I got scheduled for a Karat interview. Karat interview experience was good and the interviewer was engaging. I was then scheduled for the final round - 4 hours including coding, systems design, data modelling and behavioural. Overall, really positive experience. After getting the verbal offer, I was given the opportunity to talk to some of the engineering directors. The best part of the process is how helpful and responsive the recruiter is.
