Do more with less

Pros

So many *GREAT* people! Can't speak for everyone, but I felt they made legitimate efforts to assure their employees were compensated at appropriate levels with industry studies and what-not. No shortage of things to do, so you won't get bored.

Cons

Company motto should be "do more with less". Repetitive staff cuts over the last decade has cut staff levels to historic lows. In regular day to day stuff this isn't necessarily a bad thing, however, when things break, special projects come up, or to be proactive in addresses improvement needs one can't keep doing the "off the corner of your desk" mentality when it comes to carrying your normal every day work load and address the growing project needs of a company with older back office architecture. Lots of bureaucracy, and the over rigorous project delivery life cycle is far too taxing.

Pros

You have A LOT of freedom in this role, but don't take it for granted, and do not let it get the best of you! The best way to do so is to manage your personal and professional life. The perks that you get are outstanding - have never seen this in a company before... Vehicle, phone, laptop, gas card... Excellent perks! Your boss will have high demands on you, but will give you more autonomy to get your job done the way that fits best for you.. Complete autonomy and empowerment

Cons

You better get good at time management... Otherwise you will be eaten alive. If you aren't bold enough to say "no" when it's time to stop working, you WILL get burnt out. It is VERY EASY to get lost in the mix, and stuck in this position... You MUST have a plan for yourself, and your future. See YOU as a business, with a growth strategy and an exit plan if it does not work out. If not, you will be in this role for decades, and get pidgeon-holed.

Pros

Free drinks if that matters to you.

Cons

This company is the worst company I've ever seen. I have not been given any reviews or raises. I have not even been given my vacation pay and they are trying to avoid paying me out. and you never get 30 min breaks which is technically illegal. It has recently gotten even worse, at least a couple hours every 8 hour shift I work is now worked alone.... I can absolutely not handle this anymore. A young woman should NEVER work alone, this is dangerous and terrifying especially for such low pay and should not be legal. Especially since I have told them I get very bad anxiety, they do not care. Constantly being switched around to work mornings, afternoon or graveyard shifts. I am a 22 year old attractive woman and I am very shy, anxious, dyslexic and soft spoken, so I feel that they especially take advantage of the fact I have a lot of trouble standing up for myself because I lack confidence and treat me like Im dumb. Sometimes hours are missing on my pay stubs... And many times I haven't been even given my pay stubs even after asking. I have signed up for dental insurance over 6 months ago and STILL have not been given it !!!!! I am very depressed, my self-esteem is horrible and I get terrible anxiety about work everyday and have panic attacks related to work ... This job is destroying my mental health and well-being, would not recommend anybody work here. Currently looking for new employment. Used to get 40 hours now my hours range from 32-40. Can't afford to live on this. I feel completely disrespected and exploited and laughed at by this company. I am only being paid $10.50 an hour (minimum wage had raised in sept. from $9.95 to $10.20). All the new employees are being now paid more. This is absolutely wrong and shameful especially since sometimes I have to run their store ALONE. The worst part is that even MCDONALDS paid me a $1 more than this. They keep adding new services and making employees worker harder WITHOUT any increase in pay. And they expect employees to "not defend themselves" if a robber attacked them according to "policy". I bring a switch blade and bear spray to work every shift just in case a customer tried to kill me because it wouldn't be worth losing my life for. And "no tip" policy, Nope, every single tip customers have given me, I have taken. Boycott 7 eleven.! Please don't work here or consider it, it is not worth ruining your health for or worth your time at all. I also mention I now have about 10 gray hairs underneath my dyed blonde hair because of all the stress working for this company has caused me and I'm not even 23...
