Pros

One of the best training programs for SBS: hands down, in office and field exposure from day one. Great for entry-level or semi-experienced sales. 90% of the time when you say ADP to a prospect, they know of the company in some capacity: brand recognition since ADP pays 1 in 5 Americans. Mentor-mentee program is mandatory for every new associate (it becomes what you make of it). Reimbursement program: $400 gas and $75 of cell phone.

Cons

Always hiring: I challeneged this statement in my interview and got the response of "Its becaus we're always expanding into new territories." However, after a year it's clearly apparent that they're ALWAYS hiring because they're also ALWAYS firing. Associates over YTD plan were cut before my eyes. If you just plan on being 'good' at selling, ADP is not for you. Other cons: Newly redesigned commission structure. Under-compensated. Management team's slogan: What have you done for me lately? Unprofessional work/personal life relationships seen throughout top Management (in this specific region). Territory assignments are not always conducive to office/home location.

Pros

ADP is a good place to start off in a sales career. You get your own territory so you are not stepping on anyone elses feet. The training progam is above average. You spend one week in New Jersey at the corporate headquarters. You meet people from all over the country and learn about the details of your job. I would say this is the most valuable part of working for ADP. If sales is your thing, this is a great op for you. Other companies recognize the name and it will get your foot in the door to other sales jobs in the future.

Cons

The pressure to get your quota every month can sometimes be stressful. There is a high turnover rate, but not nearly as bad as similar sales jobs. Also, some of the territories are more dried up than others. This can be a little frustrating, but the good news is that ADP is really good at creating innovative marketing and sales strategies that direct your sales to clients you already have. So, even if you are new to a territory, you still get a slew of clients that are already using the ADP services in that area. Overall, there are some downsides, but not too many.
