Pros

Work hours are great, if you get your work done, no worries. Stable, essentially never get fired even if you're terrible

Cons

Salaries are lower than market and depend too much on profit sharing, which vary too much. No movement even for all star employees. Blatant commentary from lower level for positive change goes in one ear and out the other.

Pros

Company continues to grow in world Semicon Litho marketshare. It is now the largest player in the world in that area. Chaos provides an opportunity for quick movers and powerplayers. If you can deal with the stressful hostile environment then you can succeed in compensation and career growth.

Cons

Company culture is very diluted. It lacks processes maturity and suffers from cyclical Semiconductor revenue. This results in a very volatile staffing environment which is challenging to manage from a staffing and long term change management perspective. The culture is shoot from the hip, wild west type of management where you must be very tough to survive. The culture in veldhoven is Dutch and hostile to foreigners

Pros

Decent pay, smart people, extra-curricular activities

Cons

work/life balance, more work than you can handle, demanding schedule, heavy emphasis on meetings, pretentious management. Management loves to judge your performance by metrics (which encourages gaming the system) but these metrics are not a fair assessment of an employees value. Every employee in my dept. can hit the metrics they establish, but unless you establish a good relationship with your manager (which is almost impossible given how poorly the company distributes people and by how many meetings you and your manager are in), its really hard to show your value outside these metrics. The work eventually becomes exhausting, repetitive, and soul sucking.
