Pros

Good salary, 40 vacations days, very good pension plan and insurance, flexible work hours (including working from home), good work/life balance mentality, 14-20 % profit sharing, stock share program, semi-annual automatic (small) pay raises by the 'CAO', bicycle plan, very smart and friendly colleagues, enthousiastic drive for the customer and technology, possibility to travel to customers worldwide, possibility for horizontal movement (different roles/sectors) and vertical growth (leadership/management), very professional company with great care for its employees (ethics and cultures). IMHO, ASML is one of the strongest and best employers in NL, especially in the technical sector. I'm a long-time ASML fixed employee and I will probably not leave until retirement!

Cons

Large company, so there's some unavoidable beaurocracy and many management layers. Rather rigid salary scales, so you really need to prove yourself to raise in them. Work can often be quite hectic and a flexible (agile) mindset is recommended.

Pros

-If you you are in physics, mechatronics, etc - you will work on a cutting edge technology. This is, unfortunately, not the case for software. - Salary somewhat above the market - Good holiday entitlement (40 days) for full (non-agency) employees

Cons

For a SW engineer: - lots of maintenance work - very time consuming development process. It may take you a few weeks to get all the approvals to commit a 50-line code patch - A lot of documentation around the code: design specification, test specification, etc. Even for small code changes. - You are likely decreasing your employablity chances,in the outside world, as ASML often uses outdated SW technologies - Line management is not very concerned to motivate the employees and find the best fit job for them long-term. Rather, put them to solve some hot problem at hand.
