Pros

They have a great network and branding. Their benefits and training are great

Cons

AT&T does not have it's customer's best interest as a priority. They have their best interest before their customer's. They run their business for the benefit of their executives and managers. They do not believe in or practice relationship selling with their customer's at a management level. They run their business like a monopoly.

Pros

U-verse, Mobility (Cingular) and Internet services are great places to work for now where the money is being spent.

Cons

Old school telco mentality. There is an enormous amount of red tape and bureaucracy around every corner. There will be further staff reductions as a part of "merger synergies". I'd stay away from any job dealing with IT / back end support systems. If you're a top end technology person in your field there are better choices for places to work.

Pros

I suppose there are always opportunities in case your job goes away.

Cons

You really feel like a number at this very large company. Has a very traditional management hierarchy, with the upper management getting considerable perks (rumors of valets to top off gas and wash cars in their reserved parking area). Meanwhile, further down the chain, employees are subject to extreme cost cutting measures (no free coffee/tea, pulling teeth to get office supplies). First couple tiers of management always seem to get crapped on so that the union workers get cheap medical benefits, and upper management doesn't have to compromise on their benefits.
