Pros

The company culture hasn't always been great, but the mid-lower level employees have been working hard to build more camaraderie and change the culture.

Cons

As a music company, BMG should have a more creative workspace and culture.

Pros

- The people I work with day-to-day are awesome - Boss has my best interests in mind - Great work/life balance (7.5 hour work day) - Good vacation - Large, impressive catalog - Many offices around the world - 401k with matching and health care

Cons

- Departments act like separate companies within the same office, with little to no interaction or inclusion with "outside departments" - Communication between low-level and high-level employees is nearly non-existent - Technology is outdated an incapable of handling the growing catalog, leading to some previously profitable clients being "forgotten" and frustration internally as completing simple tasks become difficult - No one really leaves, and no one gets fired, leaving many in a stagnant state of professional growth - Incompetence in some positions (entry-level to executive) negatively affects work flow and culture - Having ideas counter to the status quo can be frowned upon - Pay is below industry averages

Growing pains

Pros

Has become the new 'major' publisher so there are plenty of opportunities to grow with the company. Hiring has been somewhat reliant on old alliances which have brought in an underwhelming senior mgmt structure which is slowly being recognized.

Cons

Along with its meteoric rise has come the problem of many of the catalog and roster being overlooked and underserviced. Staff simply trying to keep up with the many acquisitions made to continue growth. So long hours to keep pace.
