Pros

Work life balance is very good. You usually are pretty flexible. The company feels young. It has a refreshing casual feel. It can feel like a cool place to work. You have a chance to make impact on the business and see results. You can expect to get great benefits (though those have worsened) and great vacation time. The DELL perks are also very good.

Cons

The management is incompetent. They are racist, sexist and very much a good boys club. They lean on employees and most of them do nothing. Good luck getting promotions and credit for what you do. Unless of course you drink or play golf with the right people.

amount of technical exposure, opportunites to study for exams and have the tests paid for by Dell, very good benefit package, Dell is very involved in the community and encourages employees to be involved. Dell working to be a GREEN company. Dell is never stagnant...like a wind generator, it constantly changing it's heading, to be driving towards

Cons

On the damn phone all the time. Customers tried to correct the issue before calling in usually makes the issue worse than originally was. Technician's are evaluated by customer's feedback from survey. Customers typically do not understand the boundries of their support contract or are mislead by sales. Customers "demand" parts without troubleshooting with Dell Technicians, Some level of troubleshooting should be expected by customers.

Opportunity to have a significant impact for a global, multi-faceted Fortune 50 company and experience many different roles & responsibilities. Good pay and decent work / life balance solutions available.

Cons

Red tape, inability to get things done (esp if big or takes longer than 6 months to develop / launch), too many chiefs and lack of coordination across major organizations. Reorgs that happen at least once a year. Recent fear of layoffs and Dell's history of sometimes throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
