Pros

Good company in terms of product and technologies, Talented crowd for development and RnD

Cons

Extremely poor management of Presales, the managers ran their will through the analyst making them work 14 hours a day on ppt. The HR as extremely non helpful. My onboarding HR was very disrespectful and never replied to any queries. The salary increment was peanuts and that too after repeated promised. People who were in the notice period were treated very unprofessionally and the managers would threaten to complain against the analyst to prevent them from being hired to dell again. If anyone discussed about switching domain, they were forced to leave the organization by preventing them from good opportunities. Our job was not to serve the company but the management of the PSS BU. it felt like its not Dell but a independent startup

Pros

The TSE's I work with are great. When it was EMC benefits were better along with other things.

Cons

--Managers don't care if you know something or not you are basically a warm body to take a case. --Very micromanaged environment with very little training for new people. --Top managers don't care about how changes affect the people down the chain. --All around it was much better to work here when it was EMC. Dell has been the worst and many people are leaving because of how bad it has gotten. --Managers follow upper management blindly and don't appear to care how it affects their people. Which causes low morale on the team --Since Dell took over benefits have a way higher deductible and seems like the insurance we have doesn't cover as much because people are always getting hit with a huge bill. --There is no clear career path, managers have no idea how a TSE can move up to the different TSE level positions

Pros

Bery smart people, of those who remain.

Cons

The wind is out if the sails since Dell bought EMC. It is really a second rate company and they try to convince you they’re terrific. They dont know much about R&D, just assembling stuff they buy from other companies. They dont put resources where they need to be to succeed and seem very happy with being ‘competitive’. EMC wanted to be the best. Nobody seems to have a good plan but they sure want you to clap and yell ‘hooray’ when they announce a slight drop in excellence.
