      As a field leader, I am satisfied with my pay and benefits.

      Cons

      As a field leader who is empathetic and supports empowerment for my team, Dollar General has disappointing and unprofessional cons. Unethical practices with personnel management, inconsistencies with policy accountability or policies not uniformly enforced and training inconsistencies affecting development of future leaders. The company selects external candidates for most internal promote roles.

      Company is growing at a rapid rate.

      Cons

      Work life balance, minimum 6 day work week, labor model is poor, safety for employees, facility standards and maintenance not kept up, transportation and logistics issues, single coverage, pay isn’t structured for hourly employees to match up with tier complexity, too many tasks no simplification within daily operations, model store is a joke when the operating model standard is staffed with 6 employees, turn over is awful, realistic budgeting is non existent, corporate visits are dog and pony shows, you are encouraged to work around the clock and blow extreme labor

      Pros

      Great company to work for. They have a great management system. Teaches you morals and friendlyness towards rude customers or people.

      Cons

      Not enough hours. better planning on placement of products based on store sizes. More oportunities to be able to become full time or at least become a bigger corporation to allow better job oportunities in general.
