Pros

Hybrid working with set-up provided; co-workers are the best part of the job, giving more support than management does. You have autonomy on calls to do what you think is best for the customer; just be prepared to back yourself up. No overtime, so if you are stuck working, you can take the minutes back as an early finish the next day.

Cons

Heavy micromanagement - work trackers log how many accounts you work on to the second. They also have unrealistic expectations for what credit specialists should do, especially within the vulnerability sector. Burnout and cognitive overwhelm are unavoidable in this position. No support for mental health or any other health conditions given by the business. Strict structure and limits to progression, isn't easy to work your way up the ladder unless you want to be an operations manager.

Pros

Not much I can think of lately.

Cons

High Stress environment (watch colleagues go from happy/bubbly to a shell of their former selves within months). Impossible workload. Constantly changing processes. Unattainable bonus system (yet they still increase the tasks per visit but expect more jobs done). Micromanaged beyond imagination (including camera footage review team). Expected to do basically 3 or 4 jobs in one and chastised for the smallesr error (for example missing a question to their neighbour about how old their kids are or not putting a blue zip tie on an already blue cable). Safety issues with Lone Working in this role are ignored by management despite verbal and physical threats, baseball bats, knives, cannabis grows etc. Field Reps and FDS Engineers who didn't jump ship at the VR stage are wishing they had.
