Pros

It was a short walk from my home, the hours were civilised and there were good holiday allowances, free tea/coffee.

Cons

Office culture was coarse and lowbrow. Management took no notice of foul language used loudly and union preferred people to keep quiet and not rock any boats as it would only get worse for complainers. Absent/rudimentary work ethic, just meet your target then play on your phone. I was told on 5 occasions that I was working too hard and raising everyone's targets.

Pros

Great overall company with good pay and benefits, vast range of opportunities for progression and innovative business

Cons

Company internal culture has changed recently from a balanced agile to an aggressive lean culture often leaving employees very disillusioned as most of the time people just want to get on with work and be treated as adults, very hard to see black or other ethnic minority in most of the senior positions suggesting a lack of understanding of the benefits of diversity, vast number of middle management roles and operational process that are sometimes unnecessary when reviewing output, strategy to split company means that staff currently have to bear the consequences and only time will tell if it was a bad idea
