      My tenure at Philips has been a period of substantial professional growth and learning. One of the standout pros is the direct managerial support, which is priceless if you are fortunate to have a good manager. The organization harbors a wealth of seasoned professionals who have been with the company for decades. Their experience is a rich resource, and the collaborative culture enables knowledge sharing, making the complex, multilayered organizational structure a learning playground. Leading cross-functional program teams and being a part of strategic initiatives were experiences that honed my leadership, project management, and change management skills.

      Cons

      On the flip side, Philips exhibits traits characteristic of a 'boomer company' with entrenched processes and bureaucratic hurdles. The procedural rigmarole often acts as a bottleneck, stifling swift decision-making and agility, which are crucial in today's fast-paced business environment. The company's traditional approach sometimes hampers efficiency and could benefit from a dose of modernization to shed some of the bureaucratic inertia.

      Pros

      The people in non- upper management roles that work there are fantastic. Great sense of community onsite and the culture champions are consistently looking for ways to make work life better.

      Cons

      Very poor communication on the strategy for the business unit. Leadership publicly promotes innovation and new ideas to be presented but then those ideas are shot down or penalized in private by current upper management. The business unit leadership says that don't want excuses for project delays but will then decide to do 3 major layoffs in the first two quarters with no transition plan, no support for gap in resources and no expectations to delayed progress.
