Dear idealo. Thank you for your open feedback. We are happy to hear that you appreciate our work culture and benefits. The satisfaction of our employees is our top priority, which is why we take the points you mentioned very seriously and are working hard to be a good employer for all idealos. We strive to ensure that all idealos have the information relevant to them at any given time. This means that strategic decisions are carefully thought out before they are communicated throughout the company to avoid uncertainty. It is a pity that you felt that you did not have the information that was important for your work at all times. That was not our intention. In order to better understand your specific feedback points, we would be very pleased if you could contact us via employerbranding@idealo.de. Alternatively, you are welcome to contact our works council or a trusted person if you would like your inquiry to be handled anonymously. Best regards Your idealo People Team

Pros

It used to be a good company, maybe they still have some common sense that will awaken.

Cons

They let Axel Springer's claws inside the management, and they no longer cared about the employees. They sent a survey about coming back to the office, but it was obvious just a formality, because they disregarded its results. Works Council tried to negotiate the terms, the amount of days, work abroad, but the management eventually said "accept what we want or we'll make you come 5 days". Sounds pretty illegal and unethical to me. They reduced the work abroad from 180 days a year, to 20. They want us in the office and reduced work abroad for NO REASON. The company has great results the way it was, and this change will only bring negative impact. The office, although nice, is not a place where developers enjoy being and can focus. It literally went from a company I used to recommend to anyone, and reject job offers, to some sort of dictatorship. I would not recommend it to anyone anymore.
