Pros

There are plenty of other people in the same boat as you Free sandwiches at lunch time

Cons

(as mentioned by others, comments I agree with) Very high risk - You have to train for 3 months and then wait for upto 3 months for a job. You can only leave if no job is found after 6 months & still have to go in every day for no money Lack of respect for people An overall negative environment to be in Training staff donot train but more or less "facilitate" You can learn everything taught at home because they're going to tell you to google it anyway. The amount worth of the services are surplussed, it is no where near the amount people can be fined

Pros

-Easy Application and hiring process -Provide Training -Not Terrible Pay

Cons

This a software contracting firm, which is a nice way to say they are a tech temp agency. They will over promise and then severely under deliver. I worked for them for 2 years, even picked up and moved locations. I landed a contract with Citigroup and things went well for the first 2 years. Then Citi cut funding, and I was released back to FDM. I spent one month on the bench doing everything that was expected of me, and I interviewed when contracts opened up. One month in, out of the blue with no warning, I was told they were terminating me because they did not have any work coming up for my skillset. And as a reminder, my skillset was what they trained me to do. Like I had any control. Don't waste your time. Even if you are desperate, there are plenty of these dollar-store contracting firms out there and this one really does not care about their employees long term. They will over promise then under deliver. I said that twice to make sure it sinks in.

Training does not prepare you for a placement

Pros

You’re almost guaranteed a placement after training. The trainers are usually very nice and helpful. You get plenty of support DURING training (almost none after).

Cons

-If you leave before the first 2 years, you have to pay for the training (costs more than 2 years of a university degree) -The pay is awful -After training, you’re left to sink or swim. -No say in what placement you get. If you dislike the placement or are a bad fit for the role, you’re stuck for the length of the contract. -After the mandatory training, I was asked to complete upskilling training ahead of my placement. Still went into the placement with absolutely no useful knowledge and it was very difficult to get my bearings.
