Pros

- Culture is like nothing I've experienced before. Co-workers truly assume good intentions, I haven't encountered any snarky or pretentious people. If you make a mistake nobody belittles you for it. - The mission is really important. Hiring seems broken everywhere, and Glassdoor is genuinely trying to fix it. -Benefits are quite good, with great health insurance family plans and wellness options like Classpass - Work life balance actually means something. I generally start and end my day at reasonable times and rarely need to work beyond that. Unlimited PTO and ability to actually use it is also great -Transparent leadership

Cons

- Many of Glassdoor's products do not work very well. Job matches in particular have been wonky for a long time and frustrating to use, especially compared to LinkedIn. - Strategic direction could be more clear - Smaller company so fewer lateral growth opportunities, although you can definitely get promoted

Appreciate the feedback! I agree the culture at Glassdoor is truly special and our teams are full of good people who care. Also, thanks for the feedback on product quality. You are right. The product has grown quickly and we have traded off quality in some areas. That is always a balance and we need to make sure core areas of the product meet the standards of our users or they will go somewhere else. Matching is an area of focus and investment this year and I'm confident accuracy will improve greatly. - Andy Chen, SVP, Product, CPO

Pros

Benefits, work-life balance, fun events, more good people than bad, professional development opportunities, and supportive culture and awesome co-workers but only if you're lucky enough to find the right people. If you're starting off in your career this is a great place to learn. Although misguided and out of touch at times, their DEI efforts are respectable and they're trying, which was great to see.

Cons

Leadership only pretends to be transparent and supportive, favoritism, lots of turnover, poor communication between departments makes your work harder than it has to be, babysitting and making sure other people do their job right, passive-aggressive/fake culture at times. Some sales leadership recently left without any opportunities lined up so that was alarming to see. Not a lot of room for growth, promotions are usually one level at a time so be prepared to wait. Unless you're a favorite- then you might get promoted within a year, maybe even 2 or 3 times.

Thanks for leaving a review of your experience at Glassdoor. Our culture, benefits, ERG events, development opportunities and the amazing people that work here are indeed incredible. Our DEI program, while far from perfect, has come a long way, and we're proud of the steps we've taken to engage and retain our talent, as well as bring in fresh perspectives and backgrounds into our organization. We are pleased to recently welcome two new Sr. Execs who bring a wealth of experience, as well as increased racial & ethnic diversity to our senior leadership team. We have a healthy promotion rate, and a transparent promotion process available for all employees to see. Our goal is to make Glassdoor a place where everyone has access to opportunity, growth, and learning - and it sounds like you got to experience that. Thank you for your feedback! - Jacob Little, Sr. Director of DE&I

Pros

Glassdoor gave me so many opportunities to be successful and I'm glad I could grow along with the company for so many years. I've had the pleasure of working with great managers and sales counterparts over the years. It's truly a great place to work. Plus, helping people find jobs and companies they love is a very rewarding company mission.

Cons

- The product is getting stale and it's hard to keep customers excited about what's going on at Glassdoor when there isn't a whole lot being added to the platform. - The partnership with Indeed can be very hard to manage. We're supposed to be a client's recruiting and employer branding "team" but that is rarely the case. - The layoffs last year left a bad taste in my mouth, so to say. It was hard to imagine a long term career at Glassdoor after that happened even though I wasn't laid off. - Compensation is good but not good enough to keep top performers around.

Thank you for your feedback! Your perspective is critical to ensuring we amplify what is going well and focus on addressing pain points. I am so glad to hear that you have felt supported in your growth at Glassdoor and I agree that our managers in Customer Success as well as our Sales partners are truly phenomenal. In terms of your feedback regarding the product, innovation is a key focus for our Product team and we want our customers to continuously experience the immense value of Glassdoor. Additionally, I think we can do a better job of more broadly sharing the product roadmap as there are many exciting features rolling out in the near term. Regarding our partnership with Indeed, I believe it is critical that we operate as a unified team to ensure we are operationally efficient and so our customers have a seamless experience. Please feel free to reach out to me directly to share any thoughts you may have about how we can strengthen this partnership. Finally, one of my top priorities is not only ensuring you have a clear career path at Glassdoor, but also that you feel fairly compensated. Our Compensation team is laser focused on continuously reviewing compensation relative to the market and making the necessary adjustments. Thank you again for taking the time to share your perspective! Rennie Taylor, VP Customer Success
