Pros

It used to be a really good company and there's still some people that still remember those good ol' days. Constantly changing with the latest tech. multi billion dollar company, has money to burn

Cons

If this company is acquiring yours, update your resume ASAP. The job market in your area is going to be sparse soon. corporate greed defined lots of middle management Company in growing fast but kept their small "business" minded leadership. CEO made 10million last year, thats wasnt enough so they took away our PTO benefit. Constant change, dont get invested in a project you worked in for the last 3-4 months, were pivoting! again.... Multi billion dollar company, will burn your money. Got an awesome coworker; hes prolly leaving for Tinder.

Thank you for your review. It is good to hear you’ve enjoyed working with many of your long-term colleagues. We definitely have a company that moves “at the speed of SaaS” which can often feel like constant change, and may not be optimal for everyone. We have grown a lot as a company while you have been here, and continue to offer amazing perks and benefits to all of our global employees.

Run Far From This Place

Pros

Remote, unlimited PTO and insurance… HOWEVER….

Cons

Each year there are huge layoffs just to make their numbers look right to stakeholders. It doesn’t matter how much you contribute to the company, no one is safe. After the three years being in this company, I had different managers for each quarter… I wish I was exaggerating. There was no real growth for my team or I. Our team had an toxic employee and when addressing to managers it was swept under the rug up until it was escalated to HR by multiple people. It was ONLY THEN we were heard. Change is good but every year a reorganization structure is insane. Stay far from this place. Also, we once had summer hours, that was taken away… then they took away mental health days and CEO’s excuse was “because other companies are asking employees to come into the office, and we are not…” so take our perks away? I joined this company because of their once amazing perks. Now? They’re just an regular ol’ remote company who don’t care about their employees. Everyone is looking for themselves.

We value your honesty and want to address your concerns directly. Firstly, we're glad you found value in our perks - remote work, unlimited PTO, and insurance. We also understand that some significant concerns overshadowed your experience. We never make decisions regarding people lightly, but we hear you. Market conditions are ever-changing, and realignments to that effect are difficult to experience. We strive to provide support and resources during such transitions. While we do not know the details of the team situation you mentioned, we apologize for any frustration or discomfort it may have caused you and anyone at GoTo. We take all reports of misconduct seriously and are dedicated to fostering a safe and respectful work environment for everyone. Any and all feedback is essential in achieving this goal. Thank you.

Going Downhill -- Shows by Attrition

Pros

Most teams have a very family-like feel. You get to work with emerging technologies.

Cons

Too top-heavy. Seems like C-Levels are unwilling to take hits, but reduce bonuses/awards for others. Went from managers managing employees to managers managing metrics -- part of being too top-heavy (as you can't justify your "contribution" unless it's a pie chart in a slide deck). The recent "unlimited PTO" move is a nice way for the company to remove payouts from employees who were previously entitled to them, and shuffle the savings to the C-Level for reducing operating costs, especially since research shows 'unlimited PTO' actually influences employees to use /less/ PTO. Oh, well... looks nice when you first read it, but I wonder how many employees have decided not to use PTO because they'd rather take the payout, only to realize that 7 years later, they aren't getting paid for the accrual after all! Also, LogMeIn hasn't improved any product on either side of the merge in the last 2 years. All of my meetings hosted with the vendors we talk to use either Zoom or WebEx, and why not? Zoom at least doesn't make it feel like we're in 1995...

Thank you for your feedback and sharing your experience, we’re glad to hear that you enjoy working with our technologies and the comradery with your team. We recognize that a transition to our new PTO program in the US may be a big change for some, but ultimately feel it’s the best solution for our employees to take time off to refresh and refocus. In the past few years we have progressively enhanced our total rewards programs, including benefits and potential bonuses and we will continue to make sure our offerings are in line with our size, our global presence and our position in the market so we can attract and retain good talent. The company has grown quickly, and we pride ourselves on providing career growth to our employees. This means opportunities to grow into management. While some may see too many “Director” titles, other see it as an opportunity to grow as they expand their roles and their skills. We are mindful of our spans and layers of management and aim to balance that with our commitment to career mobility for our people.
