Pros

- Office and facilities - Great colleagues - Great products

Cons

- No leadership, management try to control people with fear and they not afraid to fire anyone. Zero transparency, people got information mostly from rumors. - No strategy or vision, product decisions happens seemingly total randomly. Company don't even try to retain current customers which will cause a huge drop of income in the near future (actually it's happening right now, check the numbers please). Product managers and directors have no idea how the business works. - Instead of fixing the obvious issues with processes the management try to implement esoteric methodologies. - People leaving left and right and because of this the reputation of the company suffers.

Pros

- Office location and the office itself is nice (adjustable desks, you can work on the latest hws) - The culture used to be great, now after the merger it is declining quarter by quarter - There are still great colleagues - You have a chance to go to conferences abroad and domestic training as well - You have a chance to work with the technology you want, you can move between products and try out new techs / roles

Cons

- Salary is not competitive anymore, I'd say a little bit below average or best case average - Since the merge every year there's a new reorg - Key people leave and HR can't / don't want to keep them

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at LogMeIn. It sounds like you had the chance to enjoy many of the things that make LogMeIn great; development opportunities through conferences, connections with your colleagues, and mobility to move between products and roles. We are definitely a rapidly growing company, and with that comes organizational changes at times, as we evolve and add new products and business units. We see ourselves as a place where people can grow their skills and ready themselves for new career opportunities; sometimes those are within LMI but we can be proud when people take new roles in other companies too, though it is always sad to say goodbye to colleagues. We recently ran a deep dive engagement survey to better understand what people like and what areas they are looking for us to improve upon. The more specific the feedback we get, the more actionable it is so please do keep sharing your thoughts and feel free to reach out directly to your HR Manager, Timea, in Budapest with information on compensation or other areas where you feel we are falling short.

Terrible Company, Stay Far Away

Pros

Some coworkers were smart & I worked on several different new technologies.

Cons

Terrible management/leadership, stay far away!! Since I started working at LMI 4 years ago, I went through 7 rounds of layoffs. It got so bad that they stopped announcing layoffs to employees because moral was so low. As others have said, company just feels super bloated with terrible middle managers who don’t know how to run a successful company. All the smart people have left the company by now. They pretend to be innovative but in reality that is the farthest thing from the truth. There are so many barriers to being innovative & its not in the DNA of the company, which was really frustrating for those who actually wanted to make a difference. I think another problem is that management looks down on their employees and doesn’t value their opinion. LMI is also in the business of buying companies and cutting costs by outsourcing engineering from expensive areas like California to Germany and eventually Budapest. Look at what happened to GoToMeeting, the flagship product. Moved from San Francisco to Germany with the goal of eventually being moved to Budapest. The company does a terrible job of recognizing talent & it often feels like those who bark loudest get promoted, not those who actually deserve it. My manager had no idea what was going on & did not know what anyone was working on. I never got promoted in my time at LMI. My previous boss had put me up for promotion but then he quit, and though my Director had assured me that I would still get promoted that never happened. When I quit he tried to tell me that if I stuck around I would get promoted, but it was too late at that point. It was a toxic work environment where most people hated their job and where there just to receive their paycheck or because they were tied down due to visa issues. There was no sense of community or life outside of work.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. LMI has undergo tremendous growth this past year which brings excitement but also poses some short-term challenges. With the strategic acquisition of GetGo, NanoRep and most recently Jive, we recognize there have been lots of changes in a short span of time which can be stressful. We have navigated the changes as best as we could to hold true to our goal of creating an environment where our employees can do their best work. We are pleased to have had 872 employees across all disciplines participate in LMI’s recent Innovation Jam, culminating in 6 championship teams who were then given opportunity to further build out their game changing ideas. In 2017 we hired 502 employees across the Globe, 293 of whom were in the U.S. We also were able to fill 26% of our roles from within during a year of tremendous change. At LogMeIn we offer our employees career growth and development through internal mobility opportunities comprised of: promotions, lateral job moves and relocation assignments. For Q1 2018, following our annual focal review, our internal mobility rate was 10.15%. Nevertheless, our business leaders and HR Business Partners remain vigilant in monitoring the environment, dedicated to addressing any concerns as they arise to ensure a positive employee experience.
