Pros

Once revered brands. Products that people still buy, albeit less than at the company's peak.

Cons

An executive leadership team that astonishingly remains the same despite its capitulation to private equity for about 2/3rds of its peak market cap. Talent has left, the respected leaders have left and all that remains is a company that will be carved up, sold off or synergized with other portfolio companies of the PE firm. I wish the rank and file the best.

Pros

Events, salary, i guess that's all.

Cons

Where can i start? Basically everything despite the salary and the events. Management: -The main problem are managers for sure: they have no skills at all to do the job, they get promoted without any merit - they act on favouritism all the time: in this company you will always find class A and class B people (without any logic beside). -Micro management at very high levels (not for everyone of course, some people can do what they want all the time, the class B instead have no flexibility at all). Environment: -you can find few really nice people luckily, but the general atmosphere is quite weird. Very difficult to be integrated with the main group because usually all the irish are stuck together leaving out the other nationalities (ah, you can be promoted easily if you are irish, if you are not be patient for long time). -I'm pretty sure there are a lot of more things to say about the negative aspects but i have mercy and i'm gonna stop here.

Pros

The location of the Sydney office

Cons

The Sydney office has been spiralling downwards since early 2017 - not just on the metrics but also culture, staff turnover and connectivity to the rest of the company. Sales and Marketing are at an all time low after almost two years of churning talent, hiring poorly, making inept internal promotion/redundancy/firing decisions. Talented and ex-President Club reps have been let go leaving glaring deficiencies in key product and customer areas. Geographical sub regions of APAC have little to no strong strategy in place and one in particular now has no dedicated native speaking rep. The unspoken tension between Sales and Marketing has shifted from awkward to completely untenable - resulting in any conversations regarding lead gen, events, webinars etc being a competition rather than a collaboration. Leadership across all levels is there only in title. (Who knows what gets discussed at golf club offsites) Majority of the staff spend more time complaining to each other, backstabbing each other and/or management or hiding away in meeting rooms and corners speaking to recruitment agents.

Hi. Firstly, thank you for spending over 3 years with the APAC team. We value the time and contribution from all our employees. Thanks too for the feedback regarding your experiences. There have definitely been a number of changes in the APAC region and in the company as a whole, as you would expect from a company growing as fast as we are. Whilst this adjustment can be difficult, we believe, on the whole, the changes have been positive for the company and for our employees. This has been borne out in the results of our recent engagement survey with our team reporting high trust in senior leaders, strong relationships with their managers and colleagues as well and appreciation for the increased focus on learning and development and our culture and values. I wish you all the best as you move to the next stage of your career. Emily, Senior HRBP
