Still working on their direction. Too focused on shareholders and not enough on employees to ensure morale stays high for

Thank you for lending your thoughts. Our Total Rewards team will appreciate the shoutout. With any merger, you will find great teammates who decide to take their talents elsewhere, but they were instrumental in getting LogMeIn this far. We appreciate the time and effort you gave to LogMeIn. Best of luck in your next role. Jason

Pros

Fun environment, great job. I honestly enjoyed my job and working for LogMeIn. They take the time to make these fantastic workplaces, with lots of amenities, like free drinks, team lunches, and lots of lounge areas. All offices are nice, but the downtown Boston office is the real jewel. (I didn't work in that office.) At LogMeIn, I met coworkers who ended up being real friends. There was great opportunity for travel and you will have co-workers from all over the world. Huge kick-off events in tropical locations for each department. Working with a technology that works and is needed is a great feeling. I always had everything I needed, computers, new desk - you name it. The company is not afraid to spend money on its employees. Fast paced, youthful environment.

Cons

When they decide to restructure, it's all about head count. They will not think twice of laying people off even if they produce quality work and have outstanding reviews. (I saw this happen first hand.) From what I could see there were a lot of shifting in the Marketing and Sales departments. Though travel was a fantastic benefit, be prepared to pay for it. They don't issue credit cards for anyone who isn't high level, so when you travel, you pay up front and they reimburse you - and they take their sweet time doing so. (Minimum 1 month) At one point the company owed me $1200, and others who traveled a lot were owed $6k-$10k. Now, don't get me wrong, it all gets paid back, but they take their time, which means you are paying interest on it if it's on your credit card. So, they are basically using your line of credit. They take their sweet time paying vendor bills too. They don't mind effectively destroying vendor relationships by paying bills late. Anything to make that quarter look better! Some departments have a more "toxic" environment than others. The accounting department is definitely once such department.

Pros

-The people. Honestly, they are what makes the work almost bearable. -The "perks" (I put this in quotations because they're really not that different than any other start-up company with a hip and cool work culture.) -beer cart Fridays, soon-to-be Guinness on tap, a very small gym, free snacks (fruits, protein bars, sodas, etc.)

Cons

The pay isn't that great and the work is SUPER monotonus and draining. Seriously, if you think working as a Customer Service rep (entry-level) is a good idea just because the pay is somewhat appealing (at first, at least), think again. SO what they have free beer on Fridays and a gym (which, btw, is super small)? So do a lot of other companies. Don't let the coolness of the company trick you, because in my honest opinion, it just wasn't enough to keep me there. Trust me, there are other fish in the sea, people. The training for this position is also incredibly counterproductive and insanely boring. Like, to the point where you want to rip your hair out for the first two weeks. They talk at you instead of making it more fun and hands-on, which turns you off from the get-go. I mean, you're being taught how to use VERY technical software in an extremely dense fashion. It's just not fun. Also, they are very strict when it comes to having to miss a day for whatever reason you may have, at least in those first two weeks. Sometimes, things do come up, but beware, as they will drop you like a bad habit without a care in the world. -Also, the location isn't terrible, but it's also not the greatest. It's in South Boston, where the closest T-stop is South Station. And I think there are one or two buses that stop by the office, but that's it. So it might be a little out of the way for some folks.
