Pros

IBM generally pays fairly well and there are other perks to working for a large, bluechip company - such as travel opportunities, good health insurance coverage, etc.

Cons

Very little trust or transparency within the company. There is a, "whats in it for me?" culture that can be toxic at times (people are unwilling to help each other unless helping could directly benefit them by way of retiring their quota). When you work in sales, you will experience a reorganization every 6 months (at a minimum). There are not many people at IBM who feel they have a high level of job security - any one could be let go at any time by one of IBM's infamous reorg's or notorious workforce reduction actions.

Pros

IBM still has a lot of smart people who clients trust. If you are on a large account it can be a great job.

Cons

Frequently changing territories makes for difficulties in actually developing client relationships.
