Experience, deal flow, knowledge of senior staff, very smart colleagues, analyst relationships, compensation, opportunity to learn technical aspects of energy finance, exposure to senior level clients

Cons

Long hours, lack of work/life balance, aloofness of senior management, people are not supportive of junior people seeking other opportunities, company benefits not great, unplugged group leaders

Worked in IB, obviously long hours but a lot of responsibility

Smaller teams, so one got a large amount of responsibility. Went to meetings all of the time. Worked in the Tech group on M&A, debt and IPOs. Worked across the tech sector.

Cons

Extremely long hours - normal banking complaint. Associates / VPs did little - normal banking complaint.
