Pros

Lightspeed is a very fun company to work for with great values. In order to be successful it is important to have a positive attitude and a desire to overachieve. Benefits offered are great and most (if not all) are very friendly.

Cons

Performance driven, if you don't perform you will fall to the side. You are expected to work hard which includes many long days.

Thanks for your feedback. We are thrilled to hear of your appreciation of our benefits package and we will certainly use this feedback to continue to make our benefits even better. We understand how performance-driven departments can be both exciting and challenging, and we do our best to recognize and appreciate everyone for their hard work - after all, you are the performance drivers of our organization! Our goal is to build careers and nurture talent, which has made us have ongoing conversations on how to best do that. We are feeling optimistic about the new initiatives about to come to light!

Pros

The people make the company. If it weren't for most of my co-workers I'd never go back.

Cons

You don't have a life outside of Lightspeed. You're required to owork 9-6 minimum, but gd forbid you leave at 6 and it looks back- with little to no breaks. People hardly take a lunch and they usually just eat at their desk while they work. Working from home isn't a real lthing- it's only IN CASES of emergencies. The company isn't transparent at all. Ex: "shutdown week from christmas to NYE" is not a shutdown week for sales. You're expected to work while everyone else is on vacation. Overall the environment is high stress, there is no work/life balance, managers are inexperienced and I wouldn't recommend this job to anyone. Lot of highschool like politics.

I’d like to apologize for the late response, and thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear about your negative experience at Lightspeed, but I’m hoping to address the aforementioned issues. We’re glad to know that you have a positive opinion about the people in the company because we truly believe that they are our greatest asset. Work/life balance is different in any rapid growing company like ours, and we certainly see the need for improvement. As for the “shut-down week”, this is known as a “partial shut-down week” in customer-facing teams, and I do apologize if there was any miscommunication on our part. If your role requires you to work during the holiday period, there is a financial incentive (to thank you for supporting our growth and customers during the holidays). In terms of management concerns, we’re always developing the way that we train our managers and have made a renewed commitment to grow our leaders. Thank you for taking the time to write.

Pros

- great office and people - fun atmosphere, culture - great parties - fully loaded kitchen and unlimited free coffee - awesome CEO - free booze every fridays - cool incentives

Cons

- very low base salary - quotas are unrealistic. all they care about is #'s - ZERO work life balance and no pay for any OT hours worked - no enforced lunch or breaks - favoritism in management on all teams

Thanks for your review. We’re glad you enjoyed our culture, as well as our perks and benefits that we offer. At Lightspeed, we monitor the market and offer a competitive compensation package tailored to each region, as well as offering stock options. We know it takes hard work here, and some days are longer than others but we want people to feel part of our continuous growth. In the sales team, quotas are inevitable, and while they are an important factor in Lightspeed’s success, we still appreciate everyone’s contribution towards them. We certainly take our employees feedback into consideration, and continue to have ongoing conversations regarding targets and achievement.
