Bloated and inefficient government contractor

Pros

Low level managers are all engineers with little to no managerial skills and/or people skills. This means they do not delegate properly or know how to track what their people are doing. So if you are looking to simply maximize your pay for “actual” work per hour, Lockheed is great.

Cons

The one and only qualification for recognition at Lockheed is years of service. Skills are a secondary qualifier. If you are under 35-40, be prepared to be treated like an idiot.

Good work environment and flexible 9/80 schedule make it a good place to work. Also good 401k match. Interesting work sometimes.

Cons

not much room for advancement since mostly tied to to old boys network for programs. The training is good but not great.

It was a wonderful opportunity to work for them. I got a chance to work multiple projects for number of programs. Overall, it was a good learning experience.

Cons

Hmmmm...there were lack of recognition based on job performance. Sometimes, it would a long time to get promoted to the next level.
