Pros

There is no good reason to do that to yourself.

Cons

Salary - ridiculous compared to industry standard. Benefits - when the company experiences any sort of downturn, they compensate by finding ways to make up the difference by cutting employee benefits. Competence of management - there are a very few lower-level managers there who try to make a difference and create a good place to work. They're quickly eliminated. The very poorest, Scrooge-emulating managers are the very ones who stay on forever, apparently rewarded for their 'good work'. This is a company which, in tough economic times, would rather do things 'the way they've always been done' (meaning, as poorly and as expensively as possible) rather than listen to new ideas which would clearly benefit the company.

Pros

There is really not any good reasons to work for lowe's. Unless you just want a job to be with your friends and get a paycheck. Especially if you are young

Cons

Not enough time with family. Working close then open the next morning. About 4 hrs. sleep. Management does not talk to you unless you are a member of management. They look down on you like you are nobody. And they expect you to do the job of 3 or 4 people, especially if you are the type that come to work to work not play.

Pros

Lowe's is the # 2 Big-Box Home Center and actually growing faster than The Depot - so if you can stand the grind then you can stay employed Lowe's used to be a company where if you worked hard , then you could advance in your career and make the company better . this has become an environment where many people who have no experience in the Home Center business have more influence than workers with many years in the business and since no one really knows what should be done , the consensus winds up going in a tangent

Cons

Poor training , - the company is geared toward everyone ' working the company formula ' via the computer -yet the ' computer training' that they offer is an on-line course without the benefit of any decent human teachers so what you wind up with is computer nerds who know very little about the product that they are working with The people in charge of the training are more concerned if your sweater has a collar on it than if their compter training is helping anyone. 2) there are too many bean counter/ consultants looking over your shoulder and telling you what wwent wrong and not enough ' head-count' to get the projects accomlpished
