Pros

People Focused: I continue to be impressed by the willingness of the support groups to help employees. Too many examples to share here but recently I lost funding on a contract and learned of the mobility program where my resume was sent to all hiring managers across the company in an effort to retain me. I've never seen a program like this before. Sure enough, I am back on a new contract, I had benefits re-enrollment issues and was shocked at how many people worked my issues until resolved. Communication. Again, I am impressed with the degree of communication ManTech achieves to keep employees informed. From monthly awareness programs covering topics like Black History Month, Women's history and so on. BUT they also have communications on upcoming IT changes such as moving to Zoom Gov.

Cons

The only con I can come up with would be tied to so many ways to communicate. I am on 3 SLACK channels, I have IT and HR tickets and email. SLACK is great because you can reach out to others to see if they have similar issues. However, it can get confusing finding things-did I communicate by email, SLACK, ticket etc. I was confused about President's day-was it a holiday? I could not find the current holiday schedule, but I did find an old one that suggested this would be a holiday, but people posted the current schedule link on SLACK and I learned it used to be a holiday, but it was removed when Juneteenth was added. So much information, it can be difficult to find the answer quickly.

Pros

No Pros to this awful culture.

Cons

The company I worked for was acquired by ManTech. I had previous poor experiences working with ManTech teams prior to the acquisition. I gave it six months, hoping that the division my team was in would be an A-okay part of the organization. They were awful. They pressed me to push high paid team members out or to part-time, and I could not in good conscience do that. They forced me to pick people who were on the ManTech bench that were not a good fit for our team, plus were paid higher than the people they were trying to squeeze out. Also, the benefits were an enormous step down from the small company we came from. Although I knew I would miss my team I am glad I left and had 2 job offers immediately.

Pros

As a federal contractor, you can cultivate fantastic relationships with customers that leads to fulfilling work. But this is not necessarily associated with ManTech itself.

Cons

Relationships with departments such as HR, IT, Security, etc. are non-existent to antagonistic. There are no established communication lines between different departments. When overlap occurs, these departments tend to issue ultimatum type emails forgetting that human interaction is best to accomplish simple tasks. These behaviors lead to loss of productivity and actually accomplishing contract-related business tasks. Lots of wasted time dealing with the bureaucracy of the company that impedes itself from letting its employee fulfill their contracted obligations.
