Pros

Team culture is generally quite supportive and collaborative, with most colleagues open to helping and forward-thinking in their approach (though this varies by team). There are interesting and unique development opportunities available, especially for those who take initiative and actively seek them out. Good work–life balance overall, with flexible working hours and hybrid/WFH options available in lots of roles. Subsidised food and coffee is a good perk.

Cons

Some legacy systems and processes remain in place, which slows innovation and efficiency in certain areas. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, transparency around projects and overall impact can be limited, and day-to-day responsibilities differ slightly from initial expectations. Pay is ok within the sector, though it may not always reflect the technical depth and responsibility of certain roles. There is still progress to be made in terms of diversity

Pros

Dynamic working can structure your week how you want it Alright pay for an engineering job

Cons

Defence company so everything is slow and tedious The tools which they give you are antiquated and deprecated the majority of the time. Feels like the company is stuck in 2008. They say this is because of it being defence though other defence companies have the better equipment and tools? Overall environment in my division is extremely insular not many ideas being discussed you will likely be spending your time debugging a piece of code somebody made 30 years ago with no documentation
