Pros

i am reading some reviews saying us trip is a pro. grow up. if you think us trip is a justification for joining company than you need to rethink your career goals. i honestly can't find a single pro to write here.

Cons

oh where do i begin. if you are aiming for core and think ase is a core role after their ppt before placement season, please read the following: "Hi my name is xyz, thanks for calling, what can i assist u with?" i bet u've heard this before - call centers. if that's the role ur looking for after clearing gate, getting into an iit, being a matka(mtech), go ahead and join. if u are looking for core, do NOT join. you are going to be stuck in a support role for a while repeating the line i wrote above. to get in other roles(not really core anywhere in bengaluru office), u have to work WITH the title of a support engineer, juggling both support and semi-core work. you are going to do a mediocre job in your projects because u have to be on support even on the time allotted to projects(customers keep coming back, manager assigns u pointless cases). and if u want to get out of the company.. good luck finding a core role with the precious "support engineer" title. it is a struggle. edg brochure reads like u'll be working on cutting edge technologies. the realities is u'll be doing call center work even if u don't know/aren't internsted in matlab. u'll be supporting service companies like tcs(there are core companies too). first of all - SUPPORT, secondly - for service commpanies like TCS. additionally, the pay is abysmal for postgraduates from top-end colleges. don't undervalue urself. you can definitely do better than this pay.

Pros

- Join only if you are starving to death. - Those who are not getting job in anywhere in field can join this BS and call yourself employed.

Cons

- INSULTING MANAGER!!, Jack you really need to see what is going in EDG Bangalore office. Why many people are choosing to leave. - This is a CALL CENTRE job and they should mention it clearly while hiring. - You have to toil for couple of years in EDG, flatter people and pray for any opening in other departments. They don't have any responsibility for transfer of those people in customer care to other development. - Its not 8:30-5:50 actually you have to stay till 6:30 to 7 daily for escalations, and must be in by 8:15 as calls will start coming. - People here are too insecure.

Pros

MathWorks knows how to take care of their employees in a way that few companies know how to. I love working here and feel privileged to be part of the team. My role is very exciting and gives me the opportunity to grow and be challenged everyday. With interactions ranging from the space agency to the automotive field as Application Engineers we get to see it all. The management structure in place has been incentivized to really remove obstacles from the path of us as engineers from being the best engineers we can. I feel bad for management sometimes since they are truly outstanding engineers from top schools themselves, but can be forced to be very process oriented.

Cons

As long as you are ok with being thoughtful from a customer perspective then this company can do wonders for your soul. Unfortunately, some people like to be innovative and creative in a vacuum such as coming out with a new idea but not really getting it validated by customers then this company is not for you and then perhaps a more research oriented role is a better fit.
