Pros

* Excellent stable product. * The top-notch player in the league. * Developer-oriented company. * Excellent in-house tooling and dev environments and dev machines. * Teams in India get excellent quality of work. * Hybrid work policy 2 days per week officially once office opens.

Cons

* Doesn't pay as high as Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, etc. * Paternity leave is just 1 week, which is not great. * No support for child care, e.g. company doesn't pitch in a cent for daycares, etc. which many other good companies do. * HR department is why I dropped a star else it would have been 5. The HRs in India is a joke. They report to people in Natick and won't ask for anything that people in India deserve. * No RSUs

Pros

- There is some interesting technical work being done at Mathworks - For low level engineers I think the culture is quite good -- many options of teams to work on, good work/life balance, low stress

Cons

- Pre-pandemic there was no WFH policy -- this may have changed since them - While there are many technical workers from diverse backgrounds, unfortunately there is an overwhelming majority of white men in management positions within the technical side of the organization. - Pay for technical work was average - A lot of the technical work is actually not very cutting edge or interesting (IMHO). There's quite a bit of legacy code wrangling that needs to be done, and many new additions to the product are adopting newly published algorithms from academia etc.
