Pros

EDG Program The EDG program is an excellent way to enter the MathWorks. The role combines technical support with project-based activities. Half of the employee's time is devoted to each. The technical support role provides a fast-paced learning environment. There's no better way to test your knowledge of the tools than by answering customer questions rapid-fire day after day. There are many projects available. These projects provide the employee with the ability to explore various career paths within the company. MathWorks Excellent work environment overall; great work-life balance, strong emphasis on continuous learning (i.e. internal training program, required training hours, many book clubs), rational workplace. Almost every decision is made with evidence and in the absence thereof, reason. I have never seen an instance where someone has made an authority-driven argument, which results in minimal politics. As a result, everyone is listened to in meetings, especially if they have evidence to back up their position.

Cons

MathWorks makes decisions slowly. Rational workplace has its cons, evidence is necessary before developing, development is necessary before obtaining evidence.

Pros

You are impacting a very popular tool that millions of users around the world use. They provide great facilites (gym, cafeteria, etc.), and they provide an array of self improvement course and workshops.

Cons

MATLAB and Simulink are very old-style products and the technologies behind them are a bit antiquated (Thought they are moving slowly to the cloud). The team that I worked with wasn't agile, although it was initially presented as such.
