Pros

Working at MathWorks feels like an extension of grad school. The work atmosphere is laid back, hours are flexible, the engineering work force come from a variety of interesting backgrounds. Management tends to be very rational and respectful, and many managers are open to new ideas if you can make the business case. Salaries are comparatively low, but it's all about the side perks. Great products that I am proud of selling/supporting.

Cons

Telecommuting policy or 0-3 days reinforced recently -- many days there is no reason to go to campus, but now it is required. Too many homegrown and cobbled-together tools for day-to-day use at work.

Pros

There is great work life balance. The policies and decisions are transparent and conveyed well to the employees. They make an interesting product.

Cons

I think the salary is not very high. I do not have any other cons associated it. Maybe they are not very aggressive if some people consider that a con.
