Everything about MathWorks was great (almost everything): Awesome Product Awesome People So much respect Reasonable expectations Lots of fun Interesting Work Many other good things

Cons

The salary is not that good. I'm not 100% sure though. I moved to the west coast and I hear salaries are higher here anyway and I moved to an industry which generally pays higher.

Cons

- you need patience, persuasiveness and self-confidence to make new things happen - you'll learn your own limitations: if you understand them you'll thrive, but if you ignore or deny them you'll suffer

Pros

Quaterly stakeholder bonuses are very generous and the atmosphere surrounding the six month release cycle provides challenges all the time. Other employees are usually wiling to help.

Cons

Diversity at MathWorks is an issue at least in development. I'm not sure if this is because there are not enough U.S. workers who are qualified to work there or if it is an issue with recruiting. It seems most people in development will be foreign born and I see this continuing in the future.
